Many people have no idea what conversational hypnosis is or how conversational hypnosis techniques can be used in everyday situations to dominate conversations and to overcome objections.
With very simple, but powerful, techniques a person can learn how to persuade others, how to control and steer a conversation and how to overcome almost any objection. Of course, the true master of these conversational hypnosis techniques occurs when the person to whom you are speaking is not even aware of what you are doing.
Part of the problem that many people have is that they automatically assume, when they hear the word hypnosis, is that this is some form of parlor trick where the person listening has to be put into some sort of trance. Nothing could be further from the truth. It is called conversational hypnosis for a reason; conversational hypnosis is a form of hypnosis that occurs while the other person is fully awake and engaged in a conversation. By applying these techniques properly, people will naturally have a tendency to gravitate towards your way of thinking.
Instead of further explaining conversational hypnosis, perhaps it would be best if we just provided you with some examples.
Example number one
How many times have you had to fight with your child to get them to go clean their room, brush their teeth or event to take a shower? You can easily remedy this situation by subtly overcoming any opportunity for objection by simply removing “objection” from the equation. You do this by employing a “specific presupposition.” You, the speaker, simply set up a situation where the listener “presupposes.”
Instead of demanding that they go clean their room, brush their teeth, take a shower, you simply couch it as a question; “Do you want to go clean your room in the next 5 minutes or in the next 15 minutes.” Notice this removes the child’s ability to formulate an objection or option on whether they are or are not going to clean their room. Instead, you are “hypnotizing” them into forgetting that and instead focusing on dong it no or just a little later.
This also works great in an employment setting. “Hey Bob, did you want to start that project now or in about 10 minutes?”
Example number two
This example is very simple to the first one, only this time you let them decide when they are going to start. This is a “general presupposition.” Lets take the work example from above. Instead of asking if Bob wants to start that project now or in 10 minutes you simply ask; “Hey Bob, when did you want to start that project.” It’s a subtle difference but one works better in certain situations over others. In this example, The assumption is that the person has already agreed to do the project even though the never verbally committed or agreed to do the project. Here, you are hypnotizing them into forgetting whether or not they really ever wanted to do the project because now they are focused on when they will start the project.
As you can see, conversational hypnosis techniques are designed to be used in every day conversations and situations. Mastering these techniques will allow you to control the outcome of the conversation and more importantly, help you identify when someone is trying these same conversational hypnosis techniques on you.
